Man, 91, hospitalized after plunging onto rocky shoreline behind Gracie Mansion: NYPD

A 91-year-old man was hospitalized after he fell 30 feet onto the rocks behind Gracie Mansion in an apparent suicide attempt, police said Wednesday.
Cops were called to the promenade at Carl Schurz Park near E. 89th St. and East End Ave. on the Upper East Side just before 4 p.m. on Tuesday after the senior citizen was found on the rocks below on the shoreline, cops said.
EMS rushed the senior to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell, where he remained in critical condition Wednesday.
It’s believed that the man jumped, but cops were still trying to determine what happened.
